23 Febbraio/Agency Architecture, New York/Aula Fiorentino Facoltà Valle Giulia/Roma

Oggi, mercoledì 23 febbraio 2011 ore 15:00 nell’aula Fiorentino della Facoltà di Architettura Valle Giulia, Roma, incontro con Ersela Kripa e Stephen Mueller della Agency Architecture, New York, American Academy Rome Prize Winners 2010-2011.

Presentano Piero Ostilio Rossi e Federico De Matteis.

AGENCY is a collaborative design and research practice established in New York City by Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller.

The lecture presents analytical research in architecture and urbanism with design proposals for the contemporary city.  Cataloguing the successful developmental tactics of communities throughout the world, and extrapolating them for use in urban and infrastructural designs, the presentation will outline a clear agenda for the contemporary architect.  Absolving architectural designers and urban planners of the burden to impose a uniform image of urbanity for populations that do not share the same dream, and cannot fulfill its expectations, these strategies instead allow for multiple images of the city to emerge – where the built environment is responsive and representative of the people it serves, and the global economy of which it is part.
